Annual series of faculty and student activities<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The School of Psychology<\/a> of Mediterranean College Athens presents an annual series of activities for academic staff and students, specifically designed to foster discussion and reflection on a range of topics that are valuable not only in an academic context but also on a personal level. The aim of the PsyEx Club is to create a supportive, inclusive, and intellectually engaging space for postgraduate Psychology students (MSc) as well as third-year undergraduate students of the BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology programme<\/a>, with the following objectives:<\/p>\n

\u2022 To cultivate a sense of community and confidence in academic and professional matters
\u2022 To explore cross-cultural approaches to psychology
\u2022 To connect with academic staff in an informal, collaborative setting
\u2022 To develop essential academic, reflective, and communication skills relevant to future professional careers<\/p>\n

Meetings take place once a month<\/strong>, with a duration of 60 to 90 minutes<\/strong>, from 15:00 to 16:30<\/strong>, in Room 302<\/strong>. During the sessions, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy coffee or tea in a comfortable and welcoming environment that encourages dialogue and collaboration.<\/p>\n

Students of the College who wish to participate are informed that detailed registration information has been shared via MC Class<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

PsyEx Club Activities<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Opening Session: Welcome to Psychology Across Cultures<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The opening session introduced students to Psychology in the United Kingdom and focused on the cultural influences shaping academic expectations, communication, and the therapeutic relationship. It included icebreaker activities aimed at strengthening networking and mutual support among participants.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Practical workshop on academic and reflective writing in psychology
\u2022 Guidance on critical reading, active seminar participation, and building confidence in expressing ideas<\/p>\n

January (30\/01\/2026) \u2013 Clinical Encounters Across Cultures<\/strong>
\u2022 Joint discussion with academic staff and students on cultural norms in mental health assessment and treatment
\u2022 Exploration of how culture shapes concepts of wellbeing, emotion, and diagnosis<\/p>\n

February (27\/02\/2026) \u2013 Research in a Global Context<\/strong>
\u2022 Examination of how cultural diversity influences research design, ethical considerations, and data interpretation
\u2022 Presentation of student research ideas and feedback on cultural sensitivity<\/p>\n

March (27\/03\/2026) \u2013 Professional Pathways in Psychology: Global Careers<\/strong>
\u2022 Contributions from guest speakers across different psychology specialisations
\u2022 Discussion on international career pathways, accreditation processes, further training, and research careers<\/p>\n

April (24\/04\/2026) \u2013 Communication, Boundaries, and Values in Practice<\/strong>
\u2022 Reflective session on cross-cultural communication in professional and educational contexts
\u2022 Use of scenarios and role-play to explore common challenges<\/p>\n

May (15\/05\/2026) \u2013 Celebrating Our Global Minds<\/strong>
\u2022 Final event where students share reflections or short projects
\u2022 Celebration of achievements and discussion on leveraging these experiences in future professional pathways<\/p>\n
