About the Student Conference
Mediterranean College proudly presents the Mediterranean Student Research & Innovation Conference 2026, a dynamic academic event dedicated to celebrating student research, creativity, and innovation.
The conference will take place on Friday, 29 May 2026 (11:00–17:00) at Mediterranean College campuses in Athens and Thessaloniki, bringing together undergraduate and postgraduate students, recent graduates, academics, researchers, and industry professionals for a day of intellectual exchange and collaboration.
Participation & Applications
The Student Conference offers students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to present their work within a professional academic environment. Participants will showcase outstanding academic and innovative projects, including dissertations, final-year projects, research assignments, and entrepreneurial initiatives, highlighting the breadth and quality of contemporary student work. Through this dynamic platform, the conference fosters a vibrant and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas, promoting academic excellence and encouraging collaboration across diverse fields of study.
Awards & Recognition
Excellence and creativity will be recognised through a series of awards:
Two full scholarships for a Master’s degree or professional diploma programme in the categories of Research Rigour & Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
Runner-up awards in each category will receive gift card prizes in recognition of their outstanding work.
Networking Opportunities
Beyond academic engagement, the conference serves as a valuable networking platform, offering participants the opportunity to connect with fellow students and graduates, as well as with students and alumni from the University of Derby and a wide range of industry professionals and market stakeholders.
This year, the conference is further enriched by the participation of students from the University of Derby, who will travel to Greece to present their work in person, adding an international dimension to the event. In parallel, Mediterranean College has planned an exceptional experience for participants, including a memorable trip to the Saronic Islands, offering a unique opportunity for informal networking, cultural exploration, and meaningful connections.
Through these interactions, the conference aims to strengthen the connection between academic research, professional practice, and future career opportunities, fostering meaningful collaborations and professional growth.
Student Conference Programme
The conference programme will feature student research presentations, keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and round-table discussions, creating a rich and engaging academic experience. These sessions will bring together academics, researchers, and industry professionals to explore contemporary research developments and emerging innovations across a wide range of disciplines, fostering meaningful dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration.
To further enhance the experience and encourage interaction among participants, a social day trip will be organised on the day following the conference, offering an informal setting for continued discussion and networking.

Trip to the Saronic Gulf islands
As part of the wider conference experience and in celebration of the conference’s conclusion, Mediterranean College warmly invites participants to join a day cruise to the Saronic Gulf islands on Saturday, 30 May 2026.
Participants who wish to take part are kindly asked to indicate their interest when submitting their abstract via the conference platform. Confirmation of participation will be provided together with the conference acceptance letter. Please note that a minimum of five participants is required for the cruise to take place.
*Important note: Participants are responsible for covering the cost of the cruise (approximately €50) and any other personal expenses (e.g. food, drinks, or additional purchases during the trip).
