THE CONFERENCE
Mediterranean College will host on Friday, 5 December 2025, the significant conference “Sustainability means Business: The Future of Tourism in Europe”, a landmark event for sustainable tourism in Europe. The conference is organized by European Profiles S.A., a member of the Bright Group, within the framework of the European project STARGROWTH (ERASMUS+), and will take place at the College’s facilities in Athens, with the option of hybrid participation via MS Teams.
The official language of the conference is English, ensuring an international character and access to a European audience.
The event focuses on contemporary challenges and opportunities in sustainable tourism, with particular emphasis on agritourism and ecotourism development. The aim of the conference is to present innovative practices, strategies, and tools that will contribute to the green transition of tourism enterprises, while offering professionals the opportunity to network and establish new collaborations at a European level.

THE SCHOOL
The School of Tourism & Hospitality of Mediterranean College plays a significant role in the event:
- Ms. Katerina Xini, General Manager–Principal of Mediterranean College, will be the keynote speaker in the session “Tourism for Tomorrow: Education, Culture and the Path to Sustainability”, highlighting the strategic importance of education for sustainable development in tourism.
- Ms. Sofia Matzourani, Tourism Programme Leader & Industry Relations Manager, will participate in the Panel Discussion “Redefining Tourism: Navigating Change on the Road to Sustainability”, offering practical insights and experience on the sector’s adaptation to emerging challenges.
- The conference will be moderated by Mr. George Tziallas, lecturer at the postgraduate programme of the School of Tourism & Hospitality, ensuring high-level academic guidance and discussion.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- gain insights into the latest trends in sustainable tourism and innovative entrepreneurship,
