You’ll evaluate major contemporary research and debates in HRM, including how HR practices influence business outcomes and how the value of the HR function can be measured. Covering issues of leadership, professionalism and ethics, this module looks at HRM developments in different sectors and different forms of organisations and enterprises. You’ll consider themes such as change management, flexible working initiatives, motivation and engagement within the workplace, the importance of the line manager role and the increasing emphasis on team working within organisations. This module aims to critically evaluate different perspectives on employment relations and the cooperation and conflict that varies between workplaces. You will justify how to improve levels of organizational performance and employee outcomes. You will review the role of collective bargaining, of arbitration, of conciliation and mediation. You will examine the design and implementation of grievance and disciplinary procedures to help mitigate risk and resolve problems. With this module we develop an understanding of the concept of diversity and inclusion, discussing a range of visible and non-visible dimensions that characterise different working population as well as aspects of intersectionality. Students will evaluate sociological persistence of patterns of segregation and inequality within the national and international labour market through theories such as Critical Race Theory, Critical Feminist Theory, amongst other critical studies. The module will also cover the legal, moral and business cases for managing diversity and developing a culture of inclusion and the effectiveness of different approaches. This module equips you with a set of analytical tools and techniques to enhance your professional development, personal effectiveness and credibility at work. With a strong focus on how to add business value to your organisation, it covers areas such as leadership, critical thinking and decision-making, managing financial information and budgets, team working and interpersonal skills, resolving conflicts, influencing and coaching. This module will deepen your understanding of the external, internal, business and managerial contexts of different organisations, including the impact of internationalisation and globalisation. You’ll explore the constraints within which HR practitioners work and how they make appropriate choices aligned with the objectives of their organisation. The growth of human capital has been identified as a key driver of competitive advantage for organisations. On this module, you’ll examine a range of talent management strategies to attract, identify, develop, engage, retain and deploy individuals with high potential. You’ll look at how talent can be fostered through learning and development interventions and how to evaluate the impact of such interventions on the ‘bottom line’. Independent Study normally forms a significant part of a master’s programme. This is a major piece of independently researched work, providing an opportunity to carry out an in-depth investigation of a management problem or issue that should normally have a strategic dimension which addresses organisational issues and provides a process for solving management problems. Application & Enrolment
Our MSc Human Resource Management is ideal for you, if you hold an undergraduate degree of any discipline with the necessary English language skills and you aspire to build a career in the human recourse sector.
The minimum English language requirement is equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (C1). If you do not possess an official English language certificate, you can sit the College’s internal placement test.
Moreover, you’ll be asked to submit a resume, as well as a recommendation letter from employers and tutors, and you’ll be called for an academic interview with the programme leader.

Dr. Vassilis Koniaris (Ph.D. in European Studies, 2017, University of Macedonia) is the Academic Director of the School of Economics and Management at Mediterranean College in Thessaloniki. He has worked as a senior researcher in the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Macedonia and as a European Programs Manager at the Center for International and European Economic Law in Thessaloniki. He has extensive research experience in labor relations and transnational labor networks in the EU. He has also worked as a project manager and trainer for various European and national projects related to entrepreneurship, the protection of fundamental rights, work-based learning for university students, and European integration. He is the author of publications (monographs and academic articles) on labor law, medical law, and the transposition of the EWC Directive into Greek national law. His research interests lie in the areas of teleworking, the gig economy, new forms of employment, and the integration of NEETs into the labor market.
Gerasimos Spiliotis

Gerasimos Spiliotis is a graduate of the Department of European and International Studies at Panteion University and holds a Master of Arts degree with a specialization in European Labor Relations from Warwick Business School. He has been working in Human Resources for the past 24 years and has been providing Career Counseling services since 2011. He is active in the hospitality industry. Dr. Dimitris Stavrou

Dr. Dimitrios Stavrou is an educator and researcher at Mediterranean College, specialising in Educational Leadership, Organisational Management, and Educational Policy. He holds a PhD in Pedagogy from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a doctoral thesis examining the Ministry of Education and the Teachers' Federation of Greece as institutional actors in the evaluation of educational work (1996–2023), and an MSc in Educational Policy and Administration, also from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a BSc in Primary Education from the University of the Aegean. With over two decades of experience in the Greek educational system, Dr. Stavrou has served as a public-school teacher, Director of a state primary school, Director of a private school, and IB PYP teacher at CGS Kostea-Geitona Schools. He has also served as an Associate Lecturer at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, delivering the course History of Education. His published work focuses on school leadership models, New Public Management in education, and decentralisation of the educational system, with articles in peer-reviewed journals and a monograph published by Papazissis. He has also been recognised for his creative writing, receiving awards in both short fiction and poetry. Dr. Dimitrios Chionis

Dr. Dimitrios Chionis is a psychologist with many years of experience supporting adults and groups through counseling and psychotherapy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a master’s degree in human resource management from Coventry University, and a PhD in Human Resources from the University of Bolton. He has continued his scientific training in modern therapeutic approaches, with a special focus on stress management, interpersonal relationships, and crisis intervention. Within a warm and supportive setting, he builds trusting relationships with his clients, aiming to enhance their self-awareness, psychological resilience, and personal growth. At the same time, he regularly attends seminars and supervision sessions to continuously enrich his knowledge in the field of mental health Dr. Eleni Tavla

Dr. Eleni Tavla is a Senior Human Resources Strategist and educator at Mediterranean College, specializing in Human Resources Management and Counseling Psychology. She holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Leicester, an MBA from Durham University, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology. Her professional career spans over two decades in HR leadership roles at major organizations including COSMOTE, WIND Hellas, and Piraeus Container Terminal (COSCO), where she developed deep expertise in talent acquisition, learning and development, and organizational strategy. She has also served as Career Advisor and Programme Manager at educational institutions, supporting students in employability skills, career orientation, and professional development. A certified Career Coach and accredited Life Coach, Dr. Tavla brings a distinctive combination of corporate experience and people-centred coaching to her teaching. Her research and publications focus on HR as a driver of organizational change and the role of emotional intelligence in the workplace. Dr Evangelia Markaki

Dr. Evangelia Markaki holds a Ph.D. and a postdoctoral degree in Applied Statistics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and serves as Scientific Director of the consulting firm Excellentia International. Since 2009, she has been teaching in higher education, in both the public and private institutions, in Greece and abroad such as at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Greek Open University, the Karlsruhe University in Germany and others. From 2016 to 2020, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute of Human Resource Management (EIMAD) of the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE). She has over 30 academic publications, contributions to with book chapters, 2 monographs, and dozens of conference presentations. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of Human Resource Management and Communication, she has worked at the National Insurance Company, Greek Radio and Television (ERT), the regional station Blue Sky, the 2004 Athens Olympic Games for the Athens Olympic Broadcasting Organization (AOB), in consulting companies such as Kienbaum, and VPRC. She has been nominated twice for the Greek International Women’s Award in the Business category.
