Services & Benefits
Once you have registered with Mediterranean College, you will have access to a wide range of support services designed to enhance your student experience.
International Students’ Handbook
You will receive the International Students’ Handbook prior to your arrival in Greece. It provides essential information on what to expect upon arrival, including the cost of living, opening a bank account, emergency contacts, and other practical guidance for settling in.
Accommodation / Housing
If you require assistance with accommodation, you may contact the International Office. The College collaborates with private student residences and hostels offering both individual and shared accommodation at affordable rates. Our advisors can also support you in finding private housing independently.
Private Medical Insurance
All students at Mediterranean College are covered by insurance against accidents, damage and third-party liability while they are on campus. The International Office also coordinates medical insurance for international students, which is required for obtaining a residence permit.
Pick-up Service
International students may request an airport pick-up service upon their first arrival in Greece. This service is available for a fee and must be arranged in advance. Please contact the International Office for further details.
Paperwork & Residence Permit
Our goal is to assist International students in their dealings with the Greek state (residence permit application, Tax number issuing, etc.) and other paperwork involved. We want you to focus on your studies! Therefore, we can bring you in contact with a team of solicitors at discounted fees, to deal with any of the issues mentioned.
International Orientation Day
A dedicated orientation day is organised for new international students. Although attendance is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended. The programme includes an orientation pack, a tour of the College facilities, introductions to key staff, an overview of rules and regulations, a meeting with the Students’ Union, and a guided city walking tour. Induction sessions for your specific course will follow the International Orientation Day.
English Language Support
All students undertake an English placement test upon registration. If your English level is slightly below the programme requirements, you may attend a free four- or eight-week intensive summer course offered in July and September. Alternatively, you may enroll in the Foundation Programme, which focuses on developing English language and academic skills.
The College’s English Department has extensive experience in supporting students, offering additional classes and drop-in sessions throughout the year.
Liberal Arts & Greek Language Course
A liberal arts course in Greek Language, History, Philosophy and Culture is offered to all
international students over two academic years, leading to a Certificate of Completion. The course is enriched by a wide range of excursions to Greece’s most iconic historical sites, museums and cultural landmarks!
International Students’ Club
International students can join the Students’ Club, which provides a platform to share interests, express ideas, and raise concerns. The Club organises cultural and intercultural activities, creating opportunities to connect with fellow students and introduces diverse cultures to the wider student community.
Counselling Service
The College’s Counselling Centre offers professional support to all students and is particularly beneficial for international students adjusting to life in Greece. Counsellors provide guidance on academic, personal, and emotional matters, helping you feel more at home. You are encouraged to make use of this service throughout your studies.
International students also have full access to services available to all students, including a Personal Tutor, the Career Office and the Centre for Academic Foundations & Skills.
