Karavas Chris PhD

Christos Karavas is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Weightlifting, and also holds a degree in Physiotherapy from the International Hellenic University. His postgraduate studies focus on Exercise and Health, with a specialization in Human Performance Optimization, as well as Sport Management, both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His doctoral research focuses on the economic, social, ecological, and tourism impact of sport. He is a certified Strength & Conditioning Coach by the UK Strength & Conditioning Association and a member of the European Association for Sport Management and the Hellenic Scientific Association of Sport Management and Recreation. Since 2018, he has collaborated with Mediterranean College, teaching modules such as “Academic and Research Skills in Sport,” “Entrepreneurship and Sport Business Development,” and “Sport Marketing.” For approximately ten years, he has worked as an independent consultant for athletes and sports clubs, specializing in performance optimization and sports rehabilitation. He has also served as a Scientific Associate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in European research projects focused on combating corruption in sport and the use of anabolic substances among athletes and recreational exercisers. In addition, he has worked as Coordinator of Social Inclusion Sport Programs for vulnerable populations at SOS Children’s Villages Greece. In recent years, he has collaborated with international sports organizations as a strategy and sports development consultant, while also serving as a marketing manager for numerous international sports events.
