Despoina Karagianni holds a BSc in Psychology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and an MSc in Inclusive and Special Education from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is a PhD candidate in the University of Macedonia at the Department of Educational and Social Policy and her research involves how we can develop leadership skills among children. She has published articles in academic and scientific journals and has made presentations at international conferences. She is specialized in Family Therapy and has worked as a tutor and an adult educator for the Institution of Youth and Lifelong Learning. Since 2013, she is coordinating parents’ counselling groups and has been a tutor in Lifelong Learning Centers and Institutes of Vocational Training. She has worked as a psychologist in the Greek Police, in institutions with students, parents and educators, with disabled people, refugees and psychiatric patients. She has worked as an external partner in programs from the University of Thessaly and University of Macedonia as well as in the Ministry of Education.
