Sofia Karapanou is an accredited lecturer at the University of Derby-Mediterranean College where she has been teaching since 2016. She is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation. She holds a MSc degree in Coastal Zone Management from the NTUA Interdisciplinary Post-graduate Programme and a MBA from the Hellenic Open University. She has worked as Researcher at NTUA in Road Safety. Since 2009 she works as an independent engineering consultant in transportation. Since 2011 she worked with engineering firms specializing in design studies of major infrastructure projects, environmental impact studies, water resources management, and anti-flood works.
